The Game...Doctor's Advocate in One Week

The Doctor's Advocate comes out in exactly a week. This is important for two reasons. The first being that in my not so humble opinion, The Game is the most passionate, introspective emcee with lyrics and flow to match since the late greats 2Pac and The Notorious B.I.G. (besides of course Eminem, that goes without saying). The Game's lyrics and rhyme schemes are currently unparralled in the rap game, and actually unprecedented. I've heard him adopt numerous types of flows to match a given beat, whether it be west coast, dirty south, east coast, crunk, etc. I've heard him rap fast, rap slow, rap like Shyne, Pac, Biggie, Jay-Z, Nas, I've even heard him match the rapid-fire flow of Bone Thugs 'N Harmony. He can imitate any one of them and almost beat them at their own game. He is perhaps the most versatile rapper in history, and he's only been around for about 2 years. The second reason his cd dropping in a week is important is because The Game's level of controversey is unmatched and can only be compared to the likes of one Tupac Shakur. No one in the history of rap music has released more diss songs, specifically one of the greatest and definitely the longest in 300 Bars and Runnin', especially in such a short interval of time. He's had a major beef with G-Unit (quieting them down a good amount), and more beef with the likes of Joe Budden(we'll get to him later), Memphis Bleek, the Young Gunz, Yukmouth, Lil' Eazy E, HIS OWN DAMN BROTHER Big Fase 100, and most recently Ras Kass(which resulted in Game breaking a bottle over Ras Kass's head). ALL IN THE SPAN OF 2 YEARS. The Game has a lot on the line. He's recently released several freestyles going at Lloyd Banks for only selling 140,000 his first week, so his record sales need to back up his trash-talking. With the leaking of the title track from his sophomore set, it was recently confirmed that Dr. Dre and The Game had a falling out because of disagreements over the G-Unit beef, and Dr. Dre did not lend a track to Game's second cd. As unfortunate as this is, I've heard a lot of the tracks off of Dr.'s Advocate, and I'm am going to go out on a limb and say that it will receive some classic reviews and sell just fine. The release of the "One Blood Remix" featuring 20+ artists will only help the cause. It is probably the longest remix in rap history and features some major heavyweights in the industry, who clearly do not hate The Game. It also marks the return of Ja Rule (that's right), who actually comes hard on the final verse. Here is a link to it... "One Blood Remix". Enjoy. And believe the hype...G-Unit might have to go into hiding for a bit.

p.s. If you think I'm being biased toward Game...remember this...I don't know the dude, I never met him, and no one ever told me to like him. I have nothing to gain from supporting him by making some of the statements I made. I listen to rap, and when I hear something that deserves praise, then I praise it. The level of praise depends on the rapper's skills and talent. That is all.
